A snapshot of the event:

Smart Utilities Australia 2011

546 electricity and water distribution utility power industry professionals from over 20 countries gathered in Sydney 8-10 November to join the 9th Smart Utilities Australia & New Zealand 2011.

The targeted three-track conference and comprehensive exhibition kept delegates engaged until the last minute. A platform for unleashing the latest news, trends and technologies, the event will directly contribute to the increased reliability, efficiency and security of water and electricity supply.

The latest customer centric rollout project results; next generation network findings and developments; debates on pricing, tariffing and rebate programmes; the sharing of experiences of integrating DR programmes; and services and the latest in electric vehicles and smart homes developments – they all came under the spotlight.

The invite-only Think Tank also provided rare insights into the minds of the utility industry leaders and their strategic investment plans for the first 3-5 years. In addition, the contributions of international speakers from Southern California Gas Company, Glendale Water and Power, Oncor Electric and RWE were all very well received and provided great new ideas and lessons learned.

The attached exhibition provided the perfect opportunity for industry professionals to explore new products and technologies from companies such as Itron, Aquiba, IBM, Nokia Siemens Networks, Orga Systems, Powersense, Gentrack Onzo, SilverSpring and other industry leaders. Delegates were also treated to targeted water workshops and exhibition showcase presentations delivering in-depth information on specific interest areas.

For Smart Utilities Australia & New Zealand 2012 set for 20-22 November at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, we will be working closely with the Smart Utilities advisory committee and we will soon present you the new programme with exciting new formats and again a content-rich comprehensive programme.

I look forward to meeting you in Melbourne in November 2012!
